Charlie McLauchlan

President

Charlie has over 35-years of experience in the hvac industry with a heavy emphasis on integrating direct digital controls (ddc) with mechanical systems. He was a principal participant in nine Chicago area projects that each won first place ASHRAE (Illinois Chapter) energy engineering excellence awards for commissioning and performance. Two of those projects went on to win 3rd place national ASHRAE awards. For 12-years, Charlie taught a junior college level course on direct digital controls for the National Association of Power Engineers. He was a featured speaker at the Air Contractors of America convention and at the Carrier Corporation’s Design/Build conference on direct digital control systems. Other organizations that have had Charlie teach annual “nuts & bolts” seminars to their members on the topic of controls systems and energy efficient building strategies include IFMA, IREM and the College of DuPage. Charlie is a past chairman of the Illinois ASHRAE chapter energy committee. Charlie is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and a certified energy manager (CEM). Charlie’s industry specific training includes the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) air & water system balancing school, ASHRAE’s professional development program on air and water side design and commissioning, Bell & Gossett’s little red school house program on hydronic and steam system design and commissioning, AEE’s energy auditing program, Andover Controls advanced programming & system design, Delta Controls advanced programming and system design and Trane Corporations hvac load calculation and building modeling software training.


Steve McCloskey

Vice President Sales

Steve has over 25-years of experience in the hvac and temperature controls industry. As a graduate mechanical engineer from Marquette University, Steve has applied his knowledge of building systems, energy and controls while working in both the New York City and Chicago markets with Delta Controls. As Vice President of sales and marketing, Steve works with end users and design engineering consultants to develop energy efficient control system designs and sequences of operation for a variety of building systems from high rise office buildings, university campuses, manufacturing plants to pharmaceutical clean rooms. Steve is a LEED AP and active with the Chicago chapter of ASHRAE.

Dustin Grotzke

Engineering Operations Manager

Dustin is our engineering operations manager at Delta Building Technologies. He is a University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point graduate with over 18 years of industry experience, including more than 13 years with Delta Controls. Dustin’s expertise includes Delta Controls advanced systems network and automation projects providing fully integrated solutions for control of HVAC, lighting, card access, and security. Dustin leads the design engineering team at Delta Building Technologies and plays a crucial role in facilitating ongoing project activity and monitoring project milestones. He is an expert in: Building Controls/Automation (HVAC, Lighting, Access/Security), BACnet & Proprietary Protocols, System Network Architecture, Engineering & Design, System Programming/Commissioning, Subcontractor Management, Computer/Web Programming.


Bill Krause

Senior Engineer And Project Manager

Bill has over 40-years of hvac industry mechanical and controls experience. While in the US Navy, Bill graduated from the electronics training program and worked as an electronics and communications specialist in parts of Asia and Europe during the Viet Nam War. After his military experience Bill started in the hvac industry working as a mechanical and controls service technician. Among his areas of mechanical expertise is working on industrial ammonia refrigeration systems. His electronics and computer experience lead him to specialize in direct digital controls. Bill has been the lead engineer, programmer and project manager on many of the most sophisticated, energy efficient and award winning Delta Building Technology client projects such as Loyola University’s Institute for Environmental Studies (IES) and the Quinlan School of Business. Both national award winning projects incorporate ground source heat pumps, motorized windows and a natural ventilation operating mode.

Adolph Bona

Operations Manager

Adolph has over 35 years of hvac industry mechanical and controls experience. Adolph entered the hvac mechanical industry as a mechanical and controls service technician and learned the business from the ground up. Among Adolph’s industry experience is lead Midwest region service technician for a national chain grocery store account, lead automation and controls technician on the conversion of over 500-retail store control systems for hvac and lighting control and senior project manager for the Delta Controls system at the campus corporate headquarters of Discover Card in suburban Chicago. Adolph manages the day to day operations, customer service/support and scheduling for our team of automation technicians.
