777 Michigan Avenue Ventilation Replacement

Energy saving project that involved an innovative design and new high-efficiency equipment to replace the old equipment. Part of the innovative design approach was to use waste heat from the toilet and kitchen exhaust fans to pre-heat corridor make-up air. The result is that the make-up air system doesn't use the boiler water until the outside air temperature is below 45 deg_f. The control system involved controlling the building pressure to reduce infiltration, varying airflow with demand for energy efficiency, reclaiming exhaust energy to reduce losses, and reducing humidity levels for improved comfort and indoor air quality.
